Matt and I have officially been living in Airbnb's for over 7 months! Ever since we left our last long term home in Phoenix we have been living in other people's furnished homes for three months at a time. Choosing to use Airbnb to book these stays has been incredibly simple and rewarding - I wrote about some of the advantages in a recent blog post.
One of my first jobs out of college was at a startup that specialized in finding housing for traveling medical professionals where I honed my skills at finding housing in the most obscure, remote and unlikely of places. That's probably why I have so much fun looking for housing for Matt and I - my favorite part of each new contract is the thrill of finding a new home, new start and a great new location to explore.
Alright - MUCH has changed since our last post! I'll be playing catchup over the next week or so, but first, there are some new pictures in the WHERE WE'VE TRAVEL PT'D section. As for life updates, the readers digest version is as follows:
After living, working and schooling for over 4 years in Arizona, we were really sad to leave. The hardest part was leaving our amazing friends and coworkers behind. Though we had the 3 month transition form leaving Phoenix while living in Havasu, we were still only 2.5 hours away and were still in Phoenix almost every weekend whether for work or fun.
I know many of you will find this post boring - but when I was moving and packing, I looked EVERYWHERE for lists of what people had brought, and not brought, on their first move. I didn't find much, but I'm hoping this list will be helpful to first time travelers!
We will definitely be dumping tons of this stuff before contract #2, and I'll do an update when we do!
